Juvia Lockser (Fairy Tail)

Juvia Lockser is a water mage from the anime Fairy Tail. She is a blue-haired young girl with tons of strength to her disposal as well as emotions. Juvia has come to be one of my most beloved characters from anime and here's why.
Juvia was a character that started out fighting against the main protagonists in Fairy Tail, in the guild Phantom Lord where she was a part of the strongest team the guild had, called the Element 4. Though she came from their direct enemies, she was still welcomed to Fairy Tail with open arms.
Her character seemed to be mainly for comedic purposes. One of the bigger examples is her constant fawning over Gray Fullbuster, an ice mage. Juvia never relents from always being around Gray, and making sure he notices her. It's like a schoolgirl crush mixed with a pinch of yandere, which makes her character all the more entertaining to watch and even earned her a popular fan ship called "Gruvia". Also, Juvia has been known to refer to herself in the third-person constantly throughout the series, which I found pretty funny.
Even though her character was funny and quirky, Juvia could still tug at your heartstrings if it was needed. In the Tenrou Island arc (episode 111), Meredy had casted a three-way link with herself, Juvia, and Gray; and is convinced that this way she should kill herself to kill Gray for Ultear. Through this, the girls are constantly fighting each other, causing pain for every party involved. At one point, Merely reflects on all the emotions, mainly love, she had for Ultear while aiming a blade at Juvia. Juvia notices this and says honestly one of my favorite quotes from the entire series. "Juvia lives for the ones that she loves! You've got to as well. If you have love in your life, then you must keep on living!" Though, it's just another one of Fairy Tail's friendship concept type of thing, the quote just really touched me for some reason.
I also enjoy the fact that Juvia is portrayed as a very strong female character. Her magic is water, which is so versatile to her skillful use to it. She has the ability to do so many moves with her magic, such as Water Body, Water Slicer, and Water Lock. More recently, Juvia has shown her Water Make magic, where she can make things like a hammer, for example, and sh has demonstrated that she can even turn her magic into blood (SPOILER: She gives Gray a blood transplant before he was to die). She can also to things like Unison Raids which are a combination of two persons' powers to become stronger; she has demonstrated this with Gray in episode 72. But what I found the most powerful was that her magic grew with emotion. As a woman, some of us are put down because we can't do something over the fact that we are 'over-emotional', but Juvia contradicts this. Also within episode 111, Juvia's magic, which is basically the root of the user's strength in Fairy Tail, grows to one of her strongest times when her emotions are strongest while defending her friends and love.
To conclude, I find Juvia to be one of my favorite female characters of all time for what she stands for and her personality. She shows a very whimsical personality, followed with some down-to-earth scenes where she shows what's behind the curtain. For these reasons, Juvia Lockser is one of my favourites characters.
